Shea Homes is in the process of “earth moving” on the land being developed for Serra, Shea Homes’ newest residential real estate project in Vista, CA. Serrra is located on a plot of land off of East Vista Way directly next to the Italian Restaurant Ciao Ristorante at 2015 East Vista Way, Vista, CA. According to Shea, Serra will form a community of 73 single family homes with 3 floor plans ranging in size from 1,754-2,012 square feet.
I drive by this development every day on my commute to work. Prior to the development there were 2 or 3 old homes which were torn down to allow for the new development. The work seems to be progressing quickly.
I contacted Shea Homes to see if anyone would be able to give me any idea as to what the initial list price of these homes would be. Shea was unable to provide with me with any information.
Serra will be located in Vista, CA near Gopher Canyon Road and Highway 76. Gopher Canyon Road allows for easy access to the 15 Freeway.
As I have mentioned in the past, if you or anyone you know is interested in purchasing a home in Serra or any new development for that matter, it is important to obtain competent real estate representation. Purchasing a new home is different than purchasing a resale home. Most of the purchase process is automated and dictated by the developer. However, problems can arise and it is during these times that having COMPETENT real estate representation can be valuable. I average 1 call a week from a buyer seeking legal advice about how to handle problems that they have incurred with their developer. Very few of these buyers are represented by a real estate professional and the ones that are seem to be very unhappy with the quality of representation that they are getting. You need to retain a real estate professional that has experience in new home purchases.
You do not pay your real estate professional, the developer will. The developer will not give you a better price on the house if you do not use a real estate professional. As a buyer, you will only benefit from having competent real estate representation.
