In the National Association of Realtors (“NAR”) Home Buyer and Seller Generational Trends Report 2015 the NAR noted that 43% of all home buyers look to the Internet as their first step in the home buying process. NAR reported that 88% of all buyers looked to the Internet as a resource during their home search. 94% of home buyers 34 and younger utilized the Internet while 92% of home buyers 35-49 used the internet. Overall, the Internet was, by far, the most utilized resource used by home buyers. Just to give you an idea 48% used yard signs as a resource, 44% utilized open houses, 21% used the newspaper and only 14% used home magazines. 76% of people viewed a home or drove by the home as a result of viewing the property on the Internet. 83% of home buyers stated that “Pictures” were the most important feature of website listings.
