Happy Valentine’s Day from Michael Gaddis, J.D. Realty Group
For those who fancy the holiday, here is some historical and cultural lore about love and Valentine’s day and it’s origins. Eat your heart out…wait, does that apply here? In any case, eating is good and hearts are good…so here you go.
Saint Valentine’s Day, also known as Valentine’s Day, is observed on February 14. Surprisingly, the celebration of Saint Valentine did not have any romantic connotations until the Middle Ages. During that period, it was believed in France and England that February 14th was the beginning of birds’ mating season, which added to the idea that the middle of Valentine’s Day should be a day for romance.
Nowadays, Valentine’s Day has spread to other countries along with other aspects of American pop culture.
