Donations Needed: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 2014 St. Jude Give Thanks. Walk.

I only have 68 days to reach my goal of $10,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  So far I have raised $630.  Until this morning I was the top online fundraiser for the 2014 St. Jude Give Thanks. Walk.  I have fallen into 2nd place so I am asking everyone to please visit http://walk.stjude.org/michaelgaddis and make a donation.  It does not matter whether it is $5, $10, $20.  Just please look into your hearts and make a donation to an institution that fights for children stricken by cancer when other doctors have given up.  Hearing the words, “Take your child home and make them comfortable” is something that no parent wants or deserves to hear.  St. Jude takes the cases that the traditional medical profession feels are hopeless.  The most wonderful part about St. Jude is that once a child is admitted they do not have to pay any out of pocket expenses.  St. Jude’s doctors get to practice medicine the way it should be practiced, without concern for cost.  If a child needs multiple MRIs St. Jude’s doctors order multiple MRIs.  There is no need to worry about who is going to pay for it or if the insurance company will cover it.  Whatever is needed is ordered.  St. Jude is able to do this because people like you and I donate to help these children and their families.  Most of us are fortunate enough to not have to have ever been in the position of one of these families.  The emotional and financial turmoil of desperately trying to save the life of a child can be extremely overwhelming.

I know that there are lots of worthy charities out there and that all of them need help.  However, my heart follows me first to St. Jude.  I want to help children have a chance at life.  Please consider making St. Jude one of the charities that you sponsor.  Please click on http://walk.stjude.org/michaelgaddis and make a contribution today.
